Mark Herres of Elkhart was on his way to a Halloween party where he had been hired to take photos when he decided to stop and buy some Scratch-offs. He likes to play a variety of Scratch-offs and occasionally plays Daily 3 and Daily 4.

On this trip, Mark decided to play the $5 Triple Golden Cherries Scratch-off and ended up winning the top prize of $100,000.

After buying his tickets, he sat down on a bench outside the store to scratch them. Little by little, he started to see that he had won. “I kept scratching and when I was done, I finally started to believe it was really true,” Mark said.

Mark plans to use some of his winnings to upgrade his home’s heating system and pay off some bills. He plans to keep playing and hopes to win again.
